"Beauty is pain", they say. Well, I argue that beauty is INNATE. You require a total of zero alterations to be a beautiful you. Identify yourself as the soul within the form, not the form itself. Even the most socially idolized forms of societal beauty break down; identity with physical form can only lead to bitter disappointment and a loosing battle against time. All physical forms are temporary and fleeting, but love, energy and consciousness are eternal.
The body ages differently than the soul. The soul grows stronger, it learns more, it loves more. All while the body begins to ache and break down. When we pass, our souls move on from our bodies, whole and more complete than when they arrived to this plane of existence.
Of course we want to take care of our physical form, as we must operate through this world, and experience this form for the time our soul inhabits it.
Try to focus on what is really care of your body. Try to align your care routine with care products that nourish your body and the health of our planet. I encourage you to consider eliminating some of the frivolous beauty routines that involve slathering your body in toxins or which create unnecessary pollution or waste.
Some reflection questions to consider about beauty routines:
🌷 Is this product toxic to me, the environment, or the people who manufacture it?
🌷 Is this part of my routine physically painful or damaging to my body?
🌷 Why do I feel the need to alter myself in this way? Where do these feelings originate?
🌷 How do I feel about my natural, unaltered self? Why do I feel this way?
It's not about being perfect, only about making mindful choices.
