What is Discord?
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Discord, it is in essence a chat room server. It was initially made popular in the gaming community as a way to communicate while playing video games. Today, it is expanding into many different communities, as a way to connect like minded individuals in an organized and safe space. To join the server, click the join link, and once you are brought into the landing page, thumbs up the rules to gain full access to the server channels. If you are new to Discord, you will need to create an account with a username and profile. Discord is available as a website, mobile app and a desktop app.

What is the Blue Nose Trading Discord Server About?
The Blue Nose Trading Discord server is a place to connect with other artists, share artwork, participate in community, monthly giveaways and carry on conversations with like-minded people around topics that are frequently discussed throughout the Blue Nose Trading site. Among these are artwork, astrology, books and life in general.
Can I, as an artist or content creator, share promotional work on the server?
Yes! There is a channel on the Blue Nose Trading server specifically for artists or content creators to post a monthly promotional post to inform other members of your latest content for sale, your website updates, or anything promotional you would like to share. Many servers do not like members posting self-promotional posts. I believe that there is a time and a place for those posts. As an artist myself, I understand the frustration of not being able to share my work in a room full of people who might be genuinely interested in what I have to offer. One of my main goals in the creation of this server is to help other artists connect with each other, grow, support, collaborate and inspire one another.
To keep the channel from becoming too spammy, or one-sided, member self-promotional posts are limited to once a month, and you must be creating original content. NO multi-level marketing or resale is allowed. To become a "Maker Member" on the server, go to the member-promotion channel, read and thumbs up the rules for the channel. This will automatically change your rank color in the server (so other people know you are someone who is a Maker Member that creates content), and give you access to post in that channel.
What if I'm not an artist, can I join the server?
Absolutely! We would all love to have you in our community. Although, I would argue that in some sense, you are, in fact, an artist, but I digress. In short, anyone with good vibes to offer is welcome to join! Even if you are not actively creating content or artwork, or just don't wish to share that work, you are welcome to join, participate in the monthly giveaways and see what everyone else is up to.
You mentioned monthly giveaways?
When the server reaches 15, non-admin member, we will begin doing monthly giveaway events. Everyone who is a member of the server, regardless of how active they are, will be given one entry into the giveaway each month. Patrons can exchange tokens for additional entries. Winners will be announced on the server and will have one week to respond and claim their prize before a new winner is selected. Prizes will vary widely, but will always be great! I plan to give away my own artwork, products and books from review videos, and other artists have already come forward offering to donate their work into the giveaways as well. I am certain this fun event is going to grow and change with the evolution of the server itself, in the best ways possible!
How do I manage server notifications?
Sometimes, when the chat really gets going, server notifications can be annoying or overwhelming to some people. To manage the notifications you receive, you can right-click (desktop) or tap and hold (mobile) the channel logo on the left side of your screen and select "Notification Settings", from here, you can choose how many and which notifications you want to see. You can choose to mute or change notification settings for specific channels within the server by right-clicking or tap and holding the channel name within the server. So if a particular channel is not interesting to you, or just too much, definitely check out your notification options to ensure you have a positive experience.
If you have any other questions about the server, or how it works, please leave a comment below. I hope to hang out with you soon!
